Good day to everyone! I want to ask how I can secure my central folder? There is this computer in my network that I have instructed my students to save their documents on that computer via LAN so that in any cases i wont be having problems checking and also recovering their files especially if a PC broke down, I have also indicated the SHARED FOLDER and I have instructed them to make their folders on it.

My problem is, I want to protect a folder from other users, like one student can open the other folder which dont belong to him.
My need is that I want to assign a password for each user and his individual folder, also it cannot be deleted without the permission of me, as the administrator.
I have used the FOLDER GUARD, and Folder Lock software, but I am not satisfied. Please refer me any programs / software or any instruction of how to do so. I am using FAT32 and not NTFS. Thank you and more power to everyone. Need help badly.

You can do this on NTFS simply by right clicking the folder and going to security, set the folder so that only the administrator and the user who owns the folder has full permissions, remove all other entries.
If this is a windows server, then you should look at enabling Volume Shadow copy on the drive. This allows you to recover files at certain snapshot times. Enable it by right clicking the drive (ie C:) then select the shadow copies tab and select enable.
